Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has declared that commencing at 9:00:00 AM Eastern Time on April 30, 2024, certain fees for permanent residence (PR) will undergo an augmentation.

IRCC highlights that this adjustment is in accordance with Canada’s Immigrant and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), computed based on the cumulative percentage increase to the Consumer Price Index for Canada as published by Statistics Canada.

According to IRCC, certain applicants, along with dependent children and protected persons, are exempt from the Right of Permanent Residence (RPR) Fee. These exempt groups include:

Sponsored child under the family reunification class, provided they are under 22 years old and without a spouse/partner.

Principal applicants under the humanitarian and compassionate consideration and public policy classes. However, it’s important to note that exemption from the RPR fee for these applicants is subject to specific circumstances.

Moreover, IRCC specifies that applicants under the “permit holder” class for permanent residence cannot include accompanying family members in their PR applications. Instead, individuals eligible for PR under this class must each submit their own applications for Canadian PR as principal applicants.

  • Application fees for both the worker streams and the farm stream.
  • Fees associated with post-nomination services.
  • Modifications to the Business Performance Agreement fees.
  • Additionally, there is now a fee for submitting an Expression of Interest under the AAIP’s entrepreneur streams.
