Starting September 30, 2024, candidates interested in applying to one of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) worker streams must submit a Worker Expression of Interest (EOI) through the AAIP portal. This submission is free of charge.
In the Worker EOI form, candidates will self-declare personal information, which will be used to score and rank them based on the Worker EOI points grid. Successfully submitted EOIs will enter the Worker Stream pool for consideration.
The AAIP will hold regular draws from this pool for various worker streams and pathways. Selections will be based on factors such as EOI score rankings, provincial labour market needs, available AAIP nominations, and application volumes. Candidates chosen from the pool will receive an invitation to apply via email.
Although the system goes live on September 30, 2024, at 10 am, candidates are advised not to rush, as the first draws will only occur in mid to late October 2024.
To prepare for submitting a Worker Expression of Interest (EOI), we recommend the following steps:
- Check Your Eligibility: Ensure that you meet the criteria for one or more of the AAIP worker streams.
- Familiarize Yourself with the Points Grid: Review the Worker EOI points grid to understand what information will be required and how points will be allocated.
- Evaluate Your Existing AAIP Applications: If you have any active AAIP applications or Entrepreneur EOIs, take them into consideration.
- Keep in mind, you can only submit one Worker EOI at a time.
- If you have a current Worker EOI, Entrepreneur EOI, or any draft or active AAIP application, these must be withdrawn before creating a new Worker EOI.
Set Up Your Alberta.ca Account: Make sure you have a valid Alberta.ca Account. You may use an existing basic or verified account for the submission.
